Currently there are NO laws or legal requirements in the state of Pennsylvania pertaining to pet cremation or burial services or any protection of the pet owner from misleading practices. The current state of the pet cremation and burial industry is not healthy and it is wrought with misrepresentation of services and exploitation of grieving pet owners.
There are several reasons for this situation. First, there have never been any standards put into place to define how these services must be provided. Second, there has never been a standard definition of terms to be used to define each service provided by the industry. This has led individuals and companies arranging or providing these services to misrepresent their services. Thirdly and probably most important of all, we as pet owners never want to think about the death of our pet, and, as a result, don’t get information on how best to handle the final disposition of our pet's earthly remains. We tend to, in most cases, leave these decisions up to our Veterinarian who might not be looking out for our best interest. This web site will give you the tools you need to be able to verify the information given to you by your veterinarian or the company who offer to arrange and provide cremation or burial of your pet. There are two websites that I would recommend you check out they will give you even more of the untold story of the deceptive practices perpetuated upon the pet owning public in the U.S. today. Please do not allow yourself to be exploited. |
